Kornit Digital, an innovative company based in Israel, is a global success story. The company has transformed into a global supplier of digital printing technologies and solutions for the worldwide textile industry. Two decades after opening its doors for business, Kornit is now a market leader with extensive international operations and maintains offices on several continents. The rapid growth in its scope of operations created a need for a new, cloud-based information system to manage the logistic and business aspects of the operation. The company sought an advanced platform that would support its complex operations and enable it to continue growing globally. Kornit chose ONE Technologies to implement a full Oracle system in the cloud and, assisted by the system, continues its successful run.
Kornit Digital, a global Israeli company established in 2002 and traded on NASDAQ, is a significant and groundbreaking powerhouse in the global textile industry. The company has contributed to the acceleration of two major processes currently altering the shape of the global textile industry – digital transformation and environmental transformation. Since its establishment, Kornit has developed, manufactured, and marketed environmentally friendly digital solutions for the production of textiles and fashion garments, on demand. Based on its extensive experience in developing innovative and unique products, Kornit supplies textile and fashion manufacturers with a broad scale, comprehensive solution – from huge printing machines to unique pigment inks, integrated with advanced software and supported by an international service structure.
For years, the textile industry has been one of the most damaging industries to the environment. About 85% of the new clothing industry’s output ends up in landfills, as surplus production, which means billions of dollars in losses for manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as immense, superfluous environmental damage.
As a company committed to the values of innovation and concern for the environment, Kornit empowers fashion and textile manufacturers all over the world to manufacture and print digitally, on demand, in predetermined quantities, at an unprecedented rate of production and in an efficient, high-quality and environmentally friendly production process.
In doing so, Kornit positions itself as a leading actor in promoting the digital transformation of the textile industry and also proves that, with the help of on-demand production technologies, the entire global textile industry can be more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
From its headquarters in Israel and with offices in the US, Europe, and APAC, Kornit serves over a thousand customers in more than a hundred different countries. It controls a significant share of the global market for printing on shirts and its partners and customers include some of the world’s largest textile and clothing manufacturers, including the retail giant Amazon as well as other super brands.
After rapidly increasing the extent of its operations in various countries, Kornit needed a new and advanced information management system to replace the old existing system and to meet the evolving needs of managing the business, logistics and financial operations at high levels of complexity. After examining the leading options on the market, Kornit Digital’s management team decided to embark on a project to implement Oracle’s full ERP platform in the cloud, led by ONE Technologies’ experts.
When the project was rolled out, it was the first ever implementation of a full SCM (supply chain management) system in the cloud, in Israel in general and for Oracle in particular. To pilot the challenging, first-of-its-kind project, ONE Technologies was selected as a professional strategic partner due to its deep experience and high level of professionalism in Oracle projects. ONE Technologies’ team of experts modified the selected solution to the unique needs of Kornit Digital, with a comprehensive, cloud-based SCM solution – with an emphasis on the advanced management of production, sales and distribution processes, as well as international taxation and accounting – all as part of digital transformation of Kornit.
The implementation of Oracle’s advanced solution in the cloud positions Kornit Digital’s information systems at the leading edge of digital textile printing technology. The innovative solutions assist in optimizing the company’s entire operation all around the world, generating valuable business insights and, as a result, serving both the bottom line of the business and the environment.
Consolidation of the organization’s data in the cloud allows for uniform and intelligent management of procurement systems, finances, and global inventory, as well as making operative decisions based on real-time data and allowing response to changes in a very short time scale.
Thanks to Oracle’s advanced supply chain management (SCM) capabilities, the project helped improve efficiency and automation in the international production and transportation system. The system also includes a complete financial module that assists in managing taxation, payments, and invoices, with localizations and adjustment to the various regulations in each country and interfaces with complementary systems, such as engineering planning systems, production planning, Salesforce CRM, e-commerce systems, etc.
Kornit obtained international reporting and analysis capabilities of financial statements in each individual country, as well as consolidated company reports produced for the Stock Exchange, in conjunction with advanced capabilities of international profitability analysis in various cross sections such as geographic areas, customer sectors, product lines, etc.
A set of international controls allows accurate accounting between different countries and entities using a unified system and a uniform language, and the entire process of report production is carried out automatically at unprecedented speed.
As a leading partner of Oracle Cloud Applications in Israel, ONE Technologies team of experts brought a great deal of professional knowledge and experience to the project at Kornit, which helped to come up with rapid solutions to the challenges arose throughout the project and to simplify the implementation process.
Now, after the successful conclusion of the implementation project, Kornit uses Oracle system in the cloud to manage and perform a wide variety of business processes and operations, and even continues to expand its use to other areas of activity and LOBs.
Kornit Digital’s innovative information system helps accelerate processes and improve performance in the fields of inventory management, procurement, and production, as well as financial and business management. Over and above this, it provides a solid foundation to support the expansion of the company’s business operations, both in the present and in the future.
